Synergy woofers

S3 isn't a full range speaker, so you need a woofer below (not just a subwoofer). Here are three good choices and these will be available at a good price, so if you are going ahead with a Synergy horn, I don't recommend you just run out and buy these.

1. Celestion FTR18-4080F 18"

100L vented box
97 dB 1W1m
-3 dB @ 50 Hz

If you have a sub then this is a good choice. It's the smallest of the three options with the most sensitivity, trading a bit of extension for these two.

2. Celestion FTR18-4080FD 18"

150L vented box
96 dB 1W1m
-3 dB @ 40 Hz

More info >

If you don't have a sub and you have a music only system, then a slightly larger box with a little more power gets to 40 Hz.

3. Celestion FTR18-4080HDX 18"

250L vented box
95 dB 1W1m
-3 dB @ 30 Hz

More info >

This is the one to choose if you want to simplify your system and eliminate a sub. In some rooms it will get down to 20 Hz with some help from room gain. It has a little more excursion than the others to allow it to get down low with more power but about the same output. Be warned - the box is quite large! The inductance is a little higher on this one so it only just gets high enough to match up with a Synergy horn.

How much are they? You can see the cost at Parts Express:

These will be available to those who go for the Synergy kit at an attractive price made even better by the shipping cost, which is expected to be less when everything is combined.
